Deep Down into the Dark Rooms of our Soul, una mostra di fotografie che celebrano il cinema. Per la mostra, Angelo Turetta e Stefano De Luigi scavano nei loro archivi riscoprendo immagini scattate sui set cinematografici. Due fotografi visionari raccontano la magia del cinema.

Angelo Turetta (1955) ha fotografato gli eventi della scena teatrale e cinematografica Italiana negli ultimi quattro decenni, documentando con particolare attenzione e costanza le tendenze ed i cambiamenti attraversati negli anni dalla città di Roma, negli ambienti “di tendenza” come in quelli marginali delle periferie. Tra i riconoscimenti ottenuti dai lavori fotografici di Turetta figurano tredici primi posti consecutivi al Concorso Nazionale per la Fotografia di Scena e un World Press Photo Award per "La Piovra 8" di Giacomo Battiato (2001).

Colori sovraccarichi si alternano a tonalità attenuate caratterizzando la fotografia di Stefano De Luigi. Scatti che ritraggono mondi paralleli, ben lontani dalla macchina dei sogni, stereotipo della cinematografia Hollywoodiana. Mondi in relazione tra loro che appaiono più netti sotto lo strato di vernice che le fotografie di De Luigi ci invitano a guardare meglio. Dai set dell'industria del porno ai backstage dell'industria televisiva, dalla moda fino al cinema. Cinema Mundi progetto dal quale sono estratte le foto in mostra è stato presentato come cortometraggio al 60° Film Festival di Locarno proiettato in Piazza Grande nella serata d'apertura nel 2007. Altri suoi progetti sono stati proiettati ai festival di Arles e Perpignan (Francia). Da segnalare tra i premi vinti nel corso della sua carriera 4 World Press Photo (1998-2008-2010-2011) Lo Eugene Smith fellowship Grant nel 2007, il Days Japan International ed il Getty Grant for Editorial Photography nel 2010, il Syngenta Prize nel 2015. I suoi lavori sono stati esposti in numerose città tra le quali New York, Ginevra, Parigi, Atene, Istanbul e Roma.

Deep Down into the Dark Rooms of our Soul - an exhibition of photographs that celebrate cinema. For the exhibition, Angelo Turetta and Stefano De Luigi dig into their archives rediscovering images taken on film sets. Two visionary photographers tell the magic of cinema. Angelo Turetta (1955) has photographed the events of the Italian theater and cinema scene over the last four decades, documenting with particular attention and perseverance the trends and changes that the city of Rome, in "trendy" environments as in those over the years marginal of the suburbs. Among the awards received by Turetta's photographic works are thirteen first places in the National Competition for Photography and a World Press Photo Award for "La Piovra 8" by Giacomo Battiato (2001).

Overloaded colors alternate with subdued tones characterizing the photography of Stefano De Luigi. Shots that portray parallel worlds, far away from the dream machine, a stereotype of Hollywood cinematography. Worlds in relation to each other that appear clearer under the layer of paint that De Luigi's photographs invite us to look better. From the sets of the porn industry to the backstage of the television industry, from fashion to cinema. Cinema Mundi project from which the photos in the exhibition are extracted was presented as a short film at the 60th Locarno Film Festival projected in Piazza Grande on opening night in 2007. Other projects of his have been screened at the festivals of Arles and Perpignan (France) .
