Fotografo visionario, Félix Nadar fu un pioniere appassionato all’epoca in cui la fotografia era considerata come una semplice tecnica di riproduzione senza portata artistica. La storia dà ragione a Nadar e mentre la fotografia i è fatta incontestabilmente artistica, proponiamo al pubblico di apprezzarne la diversità attraverso qualche opera manifesta di fotografi di oggi. Intorno ai ritratti di Nadar messi a disposizione dalla Médiathèque de l’architecture et di patrimoine, la mostra presenta delle opere contemporanee che, ognuna a modo suo, ridefiniscono la nozione classica del ritratto. La loro scelta è stata orientata dal fatto che affermano delle singolarità che si manifestano tramite diverse tecniche, dalla più antica alla più recente. La mostra riunisce degli esempi significativi che illustrano una linea prospettica che la fotografia non ha cessato di mettere in atto dall’epoca delle ricerche di Félix Nadar. A visionary photographer, Félix Nadar was a passionate pioneer at the time when photography was considered as a simple reproduction technique without artistic reach. History gives reason to Nadar and while photography is unquestionably artistic, we propose to the public to appreciate its diversity through some manifest work by today's photographers. Around the portraits of Nadar made available by the Médiathèque de l'architecture et di patrimoine, the exhibition presents contemporary works which, each in its own way, redefine the classical notion of portraiture. Their choice was guided by the fact that they affirm some singularities that are manipulated through different techniques, from the oldest to the most recent. The exhibition brings together significant examples that illustrate a perspective that photography has not ceased to implement since the time of Félix Nadar's research.
