….L’equivoco più comune che riguarda la post-produzione digitale è che sia necessario ricorrervi nel caso in cui il fotografo sia stato poco abile. Tuttavia, osservando il panorama della fotografia digitale, ci si accorge che esistono interi settori dove l’intervento della post-produzione diventa indispensabile per rendere l’immagine pienamente accessibile. La fotografia subacquea ne è un caso evidente, ma anche un reportage notturno in ambiente urbano richiede un intervento specifico. Inoltre, possedere un portfolio strumenti di correzione colore ampio e flessibile permette di lavorare più in fretta, oltre a incrementare le potenzialità di un postproduttore, nel pieno rispetto della percezione visiva. L’obiettivo di questo workshop di due giorni è di definire, approfondire e ampliare il linguaggio della postproduzione per chi sia già in grado di praticare uno sviluppo base RAW. Verranno esposti i punti forza di Photoshop, il sistema numerico, i canali, le maschere e gli oggetti avanzati. Photoshop possiede alcuni punti in comune con il sistema RAW, ma esistono anche molte differenze. Sulla base di queste, verranno esposti strumenti avanzati per un work-flow complementare a quello RAW.

Daniele esplorerà con gli allievi l’intero sistema dei canali RGB, CMYK e LAB, e illustrerà il loro impiego operativo. Si concentrerà inoltre sull’uso di Camera RAW come oggetto avanzato, impiegato per una correzione differenziale in Photoshop. Verrà proposto un metodo sviluppato appositamente per gli utenti di questo workshop, e si lavorerà unicamente su scatti di fotografi professionisti.

..The most common misunderstanding which concerns the digital post-production is that it is necessary make use of them if the photographer was shortly skilled. However, looking the digital photography’s landscape, you realize that there are entire sectors where the post-production intervention becomes essential to make the image fully accessible. The underwater photography is a clear case, but also a night reportage in urban areas requires specific intervention. Furthermore, having a large and flexible color correction tools portfolio allows you to work faster in addition to increasing the post-producer potential, while fully respecting visual perception. The aim of this two-day workshop is to define, deepen and expand the language of post-production for those already able to practice a basic RAW development. The strengths of Photoshop, the numerical system, the channels, the masks and the advanced objects will be exposed. Photoshop has some points in common with the RAW system, but there are also many differences. Based on these, advanced tools will be exposed for a work-flow complementary to the RAW one.

Daniele will explore with the students the entire system of RGB, CMYK and LAB channels, and will illustrate their operational use. It will also focus on the use of Camera RAW as an advanced object, used for differential correction in Photoshop. A method developed specifically for users of this workshop will be proposed, and it will work only on shots by professional photographers.
